Thank you for taking a moment to learn how I can help you make some significant and meaningful changes in your life. It is my privilege to help my clients move from a place of dissatisfaction or unhappiness in their relationships, careers, or self-esteem and arrive at a place of joy and success.
Licensed as a Private Practice Counsellor and Practicing Psychotherapist, I specialize in counselling with individuals, couples, and families in Kelowna, British Columbia.
I am trained in a broad spectrum of therapeutic approaches to best meet the needs of a variety of clients. When people ask me what I specialize in, I tell them that I specialize in Bereavement Counselling and Grief Recovery. Yet I specialize in meeting the needs of my clients. I believe that if a therapist locks on to one modality of therapy he/she won't meet the needs of a client who might respond better to another style or combination of styles. I tailor my work to the unique and individual needs of each client I work with.
I have come to understand how we sometimes feel trapped in unhealthy cycles of thoughts, feelings and actions. These conditions are manifested in problems in our relationships, problems at work and problems in our social environments. We yearn for solutions but often do not know which way to turn. If you are reading my words you have just taken the first step in the right direction.
Therapy is as much art as it is science. I believe what makes a truly great therapist is a big heart, keen insight, and establishing a great rapport with one's clients.
As a birth mother of 4 children, a foster mother to more than 20 children and a marriage of over 20 years, my understanding of family systems and interpersonal relationships is based on personal experience.

The important thing is this: To be able at any moment to sacrifice that which we are for what we could become. ~Charles DuBois
“The longer I live, the more I realize the impact of attitude on life. Attitude, to me, is more important than facts. It is more important than the past, the education, the money, than circumstances, than failure, than successes, than what other people think or say or do. It is more important than appearance, giftedness or skill. It will make or break a company... a church... a home. The remarkable thing is we have a choice everyday regarding the attitude we will embrace for that day. We cannot change our past... we cannot change the fact that people will act in a certain way. We cannot change the inevitable. The only thing we can do is play on the one string we have, and that is our attitude. I am convinced that life is 10% what happens to me and 90% of how I react to it. And so it is ... I am in charge of my Attitudes.”
